The Volunteers sqeak by the mighty Florida Gators 13-10 to take an early advantage in the East. The Vols were down 10-3 at the half, and we needed to make some adjustments in the locker room. We made the right ones which allowed the Vols D to shut down a high powered Gator offense. The UT O controlled the ball for most of the second half finding 7 in the third and adding a FG with about 30 seconds left on the clock.
UF has an awesome kicker who booted one from 51 earlier in the game like it was an extra point. The Gators pushed to within striking distance of their kicker to try and even the score at 13 and force overtime. Lacking even a single timeout however the clock expired before Tebow could spike the ball and stop the clock.
It was a hard fought battle played well by both sides. It's really a shame there has to be a loser in tight evenly matched contests such as this. However, it's just another day in the SEC, the NCAA's toughest football conference. Who I wonder, will manage to land on top?

I would disagree. UF has a very very stingy defense. I had less than 50 yards rushing for the game, and I had to convert 2 key 4th and inches plays to sustain scoring drives.
The offense has a scoring threat everywhere you turn. I play with them in DGolemi's dynasty so I kind of had an idea of how the personell would be managed. UF drove right down the field on the opening posession and was threatening to score when my D forced a key fumble. Then in the second half I was lucky enough to force a couple of 3 and outs, and decided to play keep away from him. He didn't see the ball much in the second half.
It took the entire second half for me to score 10 points because I was only averaging 2-3 yards per play. I thought it was a very good game. As for me I needed every play to come away with the win. I had 2 offensive drives in the second half and if either of them had ended early I would not have won. I had a blast though.

It was. It was one of those games you lose and just can't wait to get the chance to play again. On that note, when I get home tonight, we will be simming all the way to week 3 of 2010 so I can avenge this travesty.

Sounds like Vanderbilt is in trouble. We did pull a 42-21 win over Louisville on the road today. A little disappointed how we finished, we allowed 14 points at the end of the 4th quarter. We shall see how we fare in SEC play. Here's to hoping.

Getting a road win like that will help your recruiting. This league is going to be insanely difficult once we get to year 4. In the other dynasties you only have 2, maybe 3 user vs user games per year. Here you are guaranteed to have 8, 9 if you make the SECCG.

Well this is my first online dynasty, I think it will be fun regardless. I really just started playing online period, so I just hope I can be competitive.

Oh, and don't worry about the rediculous stat line I posted earlier. He did do that in one game, but he lost his user vs user game the next week. It evens out.

its cool, I am anxious to play a user game to see how Vandy is going to hold up. I need to land some decent recruits this year to stand a chance.

i like vandy. Its a challenge to play with them and build the recruiting, i really don't know how that would fair in an all sec dynasty. Its tough building not having so many user games i can't imagine what it'll be like with all these user games.
