Orrrrr they could've just done a 2 4-pack limit per customer which would give a lot more people a chance to get their hands on some....but that wouldn't be on par with the 30 minute after release Instagram "SOLD OUT" posts

Yep it's BS. Is Parish doing a release Friday like they have in the past? I haven't seen anything on it yet.

I say this as someone who doesn't grab these type of releases at Calandro's, because most of the time it doesn't get released at a convenient time for me and/or I don't want to deal with the madness.

But...T is tasked with selling beer for Calandro's. His job is not to make sure everybody in BR has a chance to get a 4-pack of XYZ. He advertises when it will be put on sale well in advance. People have ample opportunity to make plans to go buy it if they want to. Then he lets people know when it's sold out, so they don't waste a trip. I don't see how this is a bad thing. Hell, I wish other places would get on social media and announce when they plan to put these highly allocated beers on sale. It sure beats driving around town hoping Whole Foods or Bin-Q or whoever got their delivery and still has some. So he's doing his job (selling beer) and letting people know when it's going on sale and when there's no more available. You guys want to call it creating hype, I call it good business sense.

It's dumb. This beer will sell out no matter what.

And he just gave you a week's heads up that you can go buy a case instead of chasing single 4-packs around town. I don't see the problem here.

People work... that's just for starters.

Then they release at 5 meaning you probably have to be there well before 5 just to be "allowed" to purchase the beer at 5. Then drive home in the clusterfrick that is BR traffic on a Friday.

I don't really think I need to say more.

I have 0 problem with announcing the beers release and when it's sold out. It's actually rather nice to know.

The problem I do have is the fact that they are getting a larger than normal shipment of the beer and instead of keeping it at a few 4-packs per person, they raised the limit to a case per person. About 20 people will roll in and buy a case and they will be sold out in 15 - 30 minutes. Why not keep the same limit and have it sell out in a few hours but a few hundred people get some? Sure it makes sense as a business trying to quickly sell something but it pisses off the other 95% of their customers that didn't make it in the 15 minute window to walk away with a damn case

THIS is the entire problem that you can't wrap your head around. Why raise the limit since the shipment is larger?

1 case limit for each person that sucks them off weekly

I mostly agree with this, part of the problem is people in the beer community feel entitled to certain beers and it creates so much butt hurt when they miss out.

They are the same thing, things are weird in the craft beer community. Many beer nerds would rather have a rare average beer than a delicious readily available beer, they get a hard on by having something others don't.

That's not just a craft beer thing. That's people in general.

Those are the exact reasons I don't go over there to buy these type of releases. But I'm not going to get butthurt about it. It's a choice I'm making not to go deal with it. But I don't begrudge Calandro's for doing it that way. It's just beer.

I agree with you here. I'm butthurt because I have never been able to try it.

Very true and there are plenty of great options out there at the moment from local breweries.

Ghost will be plentiful a lot of the normal places are gonna see 60 cases. All of the barrels turning out Strawberry Canebrake were turned over to GiTM.

You will be able to find it all over town. Why folks fight with the cluster frick that is Calandros is beyond me.

I agree completely. The Opus Vert release lasted about 20 minutes according to their Facebook posts. I got some at Rouse's no problem thankfully.

And I have heard they are releasing quite a bit more Ghost than they did with Opus so hopefully I can get my hands on a 4 pack at least.
