Was anyone else listening today? Tom only did a 30 minute show due to the game so only took 2 calls. The first caller asked him about a restaurant and Tom said he and Maryanne had just eaten there 2 nights ago but he couldn’t remember the name. They went to commercials and I guess he called her and then gave the name.
The second caller asked why there was such a long line yesterday at Willie Maes Scotch House. What do they have? Tom replied that he didn’t know and didn’t care but some people have to be the first to try a new restaurant. He was going to wait. Willie Maes opened in 1957.
I know he has a lot of food/restaurant knowledge but I can’t understand why WWL doesn’t see he needs to either retire or have Maryanne do the show with him. The producer guy in the background came on a few minutes later and tried to tell him the caller was asking about Willie Maes Scotch House and not a new restaurant but Tom just said something again like he would have to wait to try it.
The best part is he has a review of it on his website.

I’ve been listening for years and it is becoming more apparent there is something going on. Aging is inevitable. I will say his show is a staple of New Orleans and if/when it goes off the air, it will be a sad day. With that being said, I don’t care for his wife on the show. She seems a little rude to Tom, condescending, and dismissive. As annoying as I’m sure the memory loss is to her, it’s probably equally as worrisome for him. I miss the days of the lightheartedness and airiness of the show.

I happen to some across his show today. I haven't listened in some time and find his wife even more insufferable than him, but he was on during this portion of the show and sounded more clueless than Biden. Definitely seems like abuse to have either out in public.
