There’s no real market for ECBP picks, if you think that’s ridiculous you should see what they sell for on secondary

the price point I feel is too high. Should be $80-$90. I still have an unopened C919 that was $60ish many moons ago and feel like it’s better . Although the Champagnes pick is delicious too.

I don’t think the $86 pre-tax (Maisano’s price) is much higher than MSRP for the picks.

Agreed, but only real comparison for the age/proof is Stagg Jr. And yes, I would rather that for retail, but good fricking luck finding that for under $250 now.

I'd pay anything under $100 for store pick ECBP. I have 5 bottles of the ECBP (c920-a122), so safe to say I really like it.

Yea. I don’t know what I’m talking about . You told me about it with the price known and I went get it for lunch and didn’t think twice. Hahahhaha

Looks like the combination of crazy secondary prices for some bottles along with plain old inflation have caught up to the few decently priced value whiskies. It will climb for a bit more but that market correction is gonna hurt a bunch of folks that bought at secondary on speculation.

Depends. From what I've seen, bottles where the proof varies have varying prices. (pinhook high proofs for example). Usually consistent proof store picks are close to their normal counterparts.

in general, barrel picks are not normally higher than the regular bottles , maybe slight bump.

Have you seen the price of Stagg Jr picks vs Stagg Jr regular?

ETA: really it’s just supply and demand. People have been calling for ECBP picks forever. And it’s not like ECBP non-picks are something that you can just buy at a store. It’s different that something like a regular EC pick vs a regular EC. You can’t actively get the “normal” version of this, so obviously the pick is going to drive up the price.
