Just got back from Langenstien's on Metairie Road. They have $27.99 N.Y. strips on sale for $17.99. I got one for Saturday and one for Sunday.

I called Langensteins and asked them to cut 10 NY Strips (prime) at 1.75 inches. Grilled them all rare to medium rare on a hot fire (oak/pecan mix). Black pepper, salt, basil. Consensus was that the meat lived up to the prime label. Very tender and juicy.
