Ive just recently started using it and most recipes call for young, unripe jackfruit. Ive seen the actual jackfruit at Whole Amazon so I will eventually give it a try.

Well it certainly is a tex-mex night on the FBD.
We ate at Chuys and I had some very good shrimp tacos, which surprised me with the right combo of flavor, flat-grilled crunchy flour wrap, grilled shrimp, cabbage, grilled onions and peppers.

I would go to the local Asian stores. They’re usually 99 cents a pound. Pick one that has a juicy fruit smell and some give if you press against it. That’s when you know it’s ripened. Watch YouTube on how to cut it.

Not sure which part of DFW you're in, but H-Mart in Carrollton had them about a week ago when we were there.

I'm in Lower Greenville area but I'm sure there are Asian food places near me. Or I am up in north Dallas burbs and Carrollton area a fair amount.
