Good for Lafayette! Maybe they'll close their locations here.

As much as I hate the food there I must say I do enjoy hanging out there for drinks before the baseball games and the drink specials are pretty damn good.

I just hate that people come here and try this food and think that since it's so busy the food must be good think that we consider it good food. I would love nothing more than a good restaurant to have that location.

If the food sucks, it won't make it. Sure, it will be a hit for awhile, as most new places are. but once people get tired of the same old chain food crap to go along with the LSU theme, it will close. Too many locally owned restaurants that support UL with good food in lafayette.

I would much rather go to an lsu theme bar than have to be around these usl jackoffs. I don't care what the food taste like...

LSU theme

I was under the impression that Walk Ons, if they branched out into other cities, would adapt the theme of the restaurant to whatever team is in the city they are in.

So, Lafayette is ULL, so it will be a ULL themed Walk Ons?

This concept would make sense if they begin franchising into other college towns which I have a feeling is coming soon.

I heard it will be a ULL theme. Similar to Caines who adopts the city they are in.

It seems that restaurants/bars seem to eventually fizzle out there. Driving, drinking and driving again keeps me on my side of town.

well that was my question about this happy's over here ... was the crowd going to be the 30s and 40s locals or were we going to have college kids driving up and down coursey drunk ... so far it has been a mix, although it looks like the college crowd is starting to take over a bit ... a lot of kids on this side of town go to LSU, but still love with mom and dad and commute ...

this side of town has just been oversaturated with too many "me too" concepts and the economy is weeding it out right now .. SE BR doesn't take the blame at all for the end zone, johnny d's, or the times ... all were management issues .. plus, walk on's is more in the commuter zone on the other side of sherwood ...

That's a pretty good analysis of that area. They have also embraced in the sushi concept, which seems to be sticking.

On another area note, I wish that Florida wasn't such a shithole east of Sherwood. That could become like a little asia area similar to Houston.

I read that Vin Phat is looking to move/upgrade.

yeah, i agree, but it is like BR has just given up on that area ... back in the day, when florida blvd. was the nerve center of the new baton rouge .. everything basically grew to sherwood forest blvd. on florida, but then stopped and never picked up to the east ... i have always thought that gap between that and the livingston parish line could have been a gold mine ... and it still could with the new bridge and denham boardering it to the east .. there really aren't any bad neighborhoods over there either ... there is a LOT of undeveloped land too ... someone just needs to nut up and put something there and the rest will follow ..
