We were going to be in Huntsville this past weekend. The guy that owns our local pizzeria recommend this place. He called it the best pizza in the state and possibly the country. Well….. I love pizza and beer. Valentina’s
I’ve never been to Madison, AL before. It’s kind of way out there. We got there at 630PM and it was crowded. While we were waiting on the rest of our party, we were told that they were already out of their Detroit style pizza and only had three of their Sicilian style left. Seems they only make twenty of these each day and when they are gone, that’s it. So we ordered a Sicilian immediately while we waited for the rest of our crew.
The place:
The Sicilian:
This was basically their meat lovers. It was thicker than the Detroit from what we saw. While it was thick, the bread was still light and airy. Unbelievably good.
We decided on two more styles once everyone got there: the New York and the Tavern. New York was margherita style and the Tavern was their thin crust hot honey. The Tavern was crispy like a cracker.
The service was excellent. The pizzas were pricey comparatively as they were roughly $30/ea. Every style we had was amazing in its own way. What I was most impressed with is that every style was very well executed. I’m not saying that this is the best pizza I’ve ever had, but if ever in the area, I will certainly be back. Already thinking about making a trip for the Detroit that we missed out on.
