Tony’s Seafood in Lafayette

I noticed last week that the “for sale” sign was down at the old Sakaya restaurant on Johnston, replaced this morning with a temporary sign, “Tony’s Seafood”, which made me wonder...is this THE Tony’s Seafood from Baton Rouge? I’m guessing probably not. Just curious if anyone has heard anything.

Interesting
I remember several years ago, there was an old gas station on University that was some form of Tony’s seafood but it wasn’t THE real Tony’s seafood
The name ended up changing and/ or it went out of business

It’s just a printed temporary sign covering up Sakaya. Glad to know that the building sold. I think I heard that Sakaya paid $900,000 for it and they had to have lost their arse while they were open.

From the article that Degas linked:

This place has yet to open but "Tony" has since been stripped from all signage which now reads, "(blank) Seafood". Still not sure what it wants to be but the place is off to an inauspicious beginning and taking forever to open. Still making more money than Sakaya did.
