Most of the spiral-sliced hams at the store come with a little packet of honey/spice sauce that you mix up if you want to go the easy route.
If you want something a bit fancier, my mom used to make a glaze with apricot jelly & pineapple juice. After cooking the ham (follow the directions on the package for warming it), she would "score" the ham by making a criss-cross design in it. Then she brushed it with the glaze, put whole cloves (look like nails) in the intersections of the score marks, and loop pineapple slices onto the cloves. Sometimes she also sliced marschino cherries and put those in the center of the pineapple slices on top of the cloves. All this was basically just for presentation, but we did eat the pineapple. (Don't eat the cloves!)

Buy a bone in ham, whole clove, pineapple slices in syrup, brown sugar and maraschino cherries. Score the top of the ham with a diamond pattern,1/8 inch depth. Push the clove in where the lines cross. Place the sliced pineapple and cherries on ham with toothpicks and cover lightly with brown sugar. Pour the juice from the pineapple and cherries over the ham and cook covered for one hour at 350,and a half hour uncovered. You can use the pan drippings for basting the ham,two or three times while cooking. This is a basic as it gets. Good luck.
