just made the most satisfying pot of SPS(wish I knew how to post pics) on this cold day

I don't cook by recipes;
sort and rinse peas
saute chopped onions, celery, garlic
put peas in pot with ham,carrots, potatoes in chunks
cover w/chicken broth and a bay leaf or two
cook til done adding water or broth as necessary
very easy

A few years back I made a split pea soup with a Honey Baked bone with plenty meat and crusty stuff. It was awesome AF.
