I have done sous vide quite a lot but this time my steaks are wrapped in plastic wrap and then placed in a ziploc. Usually they are only in the ziploc. Will that change anything? I would assume the plastic wrap is so thin that it won’t stop the steaks from coming to temp or add much cooking time. Just curious if it matters.

i doubt it changes anything, but why not just remove the plastic wrap ?

I forgot they were wrapped in plastic wrap before being put in the ziploc bag. They are already going. I could take them out and unwrap them but if it doesn’t matter then I will just let them go. It’s not like I can’t sear a little longer if I need to but we like our steaks medium rare to rare anyway.

I don't think it will make a difference
