Does anyone know anywhere in Mandeville or Covington that has great shepherd's pie? Bistro Byronz is good, but it isn't the real deal.

Just curious but what makes Byronz different?

It's not really shepherd's pie. The sauce/gravy is not traditional. The veggies are mainly steamed green beans. They have a seasoned cheese sauce on top of the mashed potatoes instead of the normal baked cheese.

It's very different than every shep's pie I have ever had. It was a great meal, but it was simply something else.

If I had time today, I would have simply made it homemade.
