As some of you know, other than for the standard American Beers, I know little about beers...just starting to learn.

Went to Total Wine after being at the Bluebonnet Brew Off and deciding that my taste lies towards the lagers / darker beers, non bitter side.

I was buying Lakewood Lager Vienna Style, Abita Amber and a few others when my rum guy saw me and after conversing about beers suggested I buy this one, he said it is in short supply and only offered a few times a year.

Was he just making a sale ? or was he right ?
Any input on flavor?
I normally do not spend $ 23 for 4 beers

It’s a fantastic barrel aged stout. It’s not exactly the same type of beer you’re normally drinking and may be a little out of your comfort zone. That being said, if you like good rum and your rum guy knows your taste, you’re likel going to enjoy it. It’s just going to be thicker, darker and heavier than what you’ve been drinking.

Thanks, I have tried others, less expensive such as Fat Tire and kinda liked them pretty good so I am trying to expand my choices.

I am also looking forward to the Lakewood Vienna Lager.
Bought about 6 other different beers yesterday. Nice to be able to buy "singles" to try.

BTW, do you guys save the bottles/cans ???

My man!

Most of the fellas in here are IPA guys. But i love my beer like I like my women. Thick, dark, and boozy.

Kbs is great. If you like that I've got a long list of others you should try.

I will take a pic of the ones I bought to try and post on Monday. Would appreciate other suggestions. TY

Yes, a lot of people talk about IPAs etc and to each his own, but I never understood "having to develop a taste" for something.

Toppling was awesome. Got Assassin and pours of each variant. Was also able to get the “set” of Mornin’ Delight from the cellar sale.

Founders CBS release day. Currently parked at my local Whole Foods awaiting the 2pm release. Also a Founders tap takeover with a bunch of nice options.

Anyone else grab any yet?
