I have heard about it before; however, I did not believe it was as near as bad as people made it out to be. I was very very very very wrong. How drunk was she when she made this recipe, why didn't anybody stop her, and why did they put it on the show?

I think this would be worse than fruit cake.

I hate Sandra Lee.

But she didn't make the recipe. Someone else wrote it for her. Some woman that writes recipes for multiple people on cooking shows that don't have time to write recipes.

Funny thing is, the woman who made up the recipe talked on and on about how Sandra Lee sucks.. but she's the one that made this terrible recipe.

Psh, suit yourself! That's one of the greatest entertainments on the Food Network. Who the hell would I crack up laughing at if her show was canceled?

I read somewhere that she did not create/write the recipe, but she still made it and called it good.
I have watched her show a couple times, I understand the concept behind her show. That even if are busy, you can still make food at home. I like the idea, I just wish they would have found somebody who can cook to host the show. Most of her cooking is buy this in the store and combine it with this. She spends most of her time making ugly decorations and big arse drinks.

As earlier stated, I dont watch her, but I have no problem with the concept.

I was flipping channells on Christmas Eve, she was on, the entire kitchen was pink, everything. Seems her show would be a better idea with a basic home kitchen for her to demo in.

But then that would defeat the purpose..

She purposely chooses a color scheme, decor, drinks, and food to all follow some kind of theme. IE:Christmas, Easter party, my neighbors cousin got out of jail, etc. Then she gets all giddy and makes a drink to celebrate.

I love watching that show because it's so horrible with it's themes and decoration BS.

I'm not sure.. I kinda hate Food Network because it's too.. geared toward people at home I wish that new Cooking Channel was on regular cable because it's REAL chefs cooking real food. Food Network has almost dumbed down completely. I don't mind some shows that help people at home learn to make basic meals, but it's really annoying to me that a network about food has ONE show where real advanced chefs are doing things worth watching.

I do like the idea of semi-homemade cooking because let's face it: many Americans need to cut corners or else they'll be driving through McDonalds every night. But I wish Food Network as a whole devoted themselves a little more to advanced cooking and teaching.. not 7-8 shows in a row of some random person cooking regular things in their kitchen in 30 minutes, ya know?

I LOVE watching it. I would probably cry if it came off the air because I find it funnier than comedies. She's batshit and it's hilarious. It's like watching a trainwreck.

I wouldn't mind the "semi homemade" premise..but to me, hers is all store bought. I bitch about this all the time. Her catch phrase is what - "75% store bought items, 25% fresh" or something like that...Yet not one damn thing is fresh half the time.

this would be great. i've been saying this for a while but i don't think it fits well with FN's marketing scheme: focused on "stars" that can build a brand for selling cookbooks, cookware, etc.

No, you're right. She is terrible at her job. If they want to have a show that reaches out to people who might not have the time/money/skill to make 100% fresh meals, they need to get someone who at least knows what they're doing.
My mom is a great cook, and she uses a box of chicken stock every so often when she's short on time.. or something like that. This woman just mixes a bunch of shitty foods that are store-bought and calls it a meal.

Throw it in a pie tin and call it a crap pie

BTW, the chicken stock. It's fine. Don't let the board snobs tell ya otherwise. I'd like to see people who bitch about "shortcuts like store bought stock" handle a full day at work, kids with homework and practices, etc. Sometimes something's gotta give. So props to FN for at least thinking of a concept that fits 75% of America.
