I'm sad to see the way Central is reacting to the new Sammy's. They've abandoned the other restaurants. I just don't see this "city" being able to support much more business. I feel like all it would take is a Chili's or a Cheeburger Cheeburger to destroy the restaurant market here.

That really is an issue. Whenever I think about going there I always think I don't want to fight the elbow-to-elbow mob.

And the favorite of the place seems to be boiled crawfish and I don't go to restaurants to eat crawfish.

I do think their hamburger steak is one of the best in town and their specials tend to be pretty good.

I remember going there in college before it got popular back in the late 80's. We lived on Gardere which believe or not was mostly made up of LSU students back then.

Had half price appetizers and cheap beer. Fun place to hang out then. Much different vibe now.

definitely not on the bandwagon either, which goes for all of the other crap we have that fits into the same category, but where they do win me is boiled crawfish/crabs. They get it right and it is pretty good.

Went there before the regionals year before last, good crawfish, good sammich, and the service was decent. Wasn't really packed but had a decent crowd.

I'm a regular at Sammy's Grill Zachary. Never had a problem with the service and only one time with the food. The managers (Joel and Buddy) took care of that immidiatly when I complained. Also I've never grabbed a waitress on the arse so hopefully I'm not consisered a "douchbag", and I'm there 3 or 4 days of the week. If you sit at the bar or in the bar area the service is better because the most experienced waiters work there and they are aware that the regulars are what keep them in business. The food is good and consistant. The wait staff friendly and as accomidating as the crowds will allow. You seem to have the hate on for Sammy's for some reason. Hope you have a "blessed" day and a better experience the next time you try Sammy's.

I have no hate for sammy's. I was responding to another poster. I just think their service is bad.

I eat sammy's usually once a week and i've never had bad service. Food is decent, burgers, blackended tilapia, chicken club... just decent lunch food.

It used to be really good, and the girls were all cuties. When they expanded the original location and added locations the quality of their service AND their servers started to decline, IMO.
