Wowzers, they mix cream cheese and sugar all by themselves!?
Crazy right? Actually, my point was that's what differentiates them from somewhere like Outback & puts them on a different level all together, IMO. Not sure what all goes into the carrot cake at saltgrass, but I can just about guarantee you places like Outback aren't making their desserts from scratch.

My son ordered that carrot cake and it was enough to feed 3 people. I don't really care for sweets but their carrot cake is legit.
Outback used to be good when there was only a handful of them many years ago. Once Outback opened a place in pretty much every decent size city in America their quality has really slipped. I hope Saltgrass doesn't try to open those things all over the country and let their standards go by the wayside. I personally enjoy cooking my own steaks but as a business traveler that has to eat out a lot I still stand by what I have always said that Saltgrass is a pretty good value for the money. I like how they have other items like chicken fried steak for those that don't want a traditional steak. Their quail is good. I find Saltgrass has a lot of options that you don't see in these other chain steakhouses. The mac and cheese is also damn good.

One of the most annoying things about living in Louisiana or other hillbilly arse states is that all of you whine about eating, drinking or shopping "local" like it's a sin to do otherwise. Hillbillies going to hillbilly I suppose
