I am looking for a burner stand that can support at least a 5 qt cast pot full of jambalaya. Also, I would like to get a pot for gumbo/boils. Going to use this for tailgating and camping.

Anybody with any recommendations on brand, type of burner, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

5 qt or 5 gal? 5 qt you could use a very small burner. If 5 gal either of the two mentioned are good. I got one of each.

get a good stand for the pot, then add whatever burner you want. Most hardware stores and grocery stores in the Ascension area carry many different styles of stands and burners. If you live in the Baton Rouge area.
Good Luck

Is there only one?

Do you have a recommendation on BTUs?

Is there a benefit to double jet?

I bought a 15 gal jambalaya setup from a guy in Gramercy if I remember right, not far from Zapp's factory. He custom builds setups and I love mine, he does make smaller setups. I will see if I can find his info for you.

I don't know how a double jet would work with a jambalya. Try Lamendola's in Gonzales. They have alot of pots and burners for sale. I've never asked about any of them, but I think you could tell them what size pot and what you are cooking and get some good advice.

Sorry, about two years ago after graduation I got a great idea to move to Atlanta for work.

Being right in the middle of SEC country, I have decided this is the year for road trips and I want to put together a good tailgate kit.

So I'm probably going to have to order online.

Check out Vernons or Ed's hardware

Need a Jet burner for boiling.

Get a cast iron burner for jambalaya.

Picked me up a nice banjo burner at the Auction Saturday

Gotcha!

I'm not sure what btu's mine are. I looked up online and saw a king kooker 5 gal pot burner combo for sale. The burner was a 60000btu. Hope this helps. My best advice is get a good regulator that adjusts very smooth. This will be as important as a good burner.

Email this guy, his address is in the link. R&R Welding in Paulina, I promise you will not be disappointed. Talk with him and can probably make exactly what you want if it isn't one of his standard setups. Get the casters on the burner and have him make you a hinged lid for the jambalaya pot. The 5 gal will be my next purchase from him.

What about this one?

General tailgating question: how do yall secure all this in your truck bed while at the game?

I have some lockable Masterlock U-bolts on my bed that I can run a steel reinforced cable through. I hope thats enough.

Whoa.. that thing is a beast and the wheels are a nice touch. Now I have to see if I can make room in my tailgate budget.

This setup is a Cadillac. I never have to worry about the wind and with the casters it is very mobile. I use it all the time for jambalaya, gravy or frying.

He builds them in his shop at his house. When I was there he was custom making a cooker that had 6 lowpressure burners on top and the two ends were offset closer to the ground, 1 end for a jambalaya pot and 1 end for crawfish. Not sure what I would have done with it but man it was sweet. Was headed to somebody's camp if I remember right.

I have a 7 gallon pot and had no problem finding a burner. I just went to a local hardwear store with the pot in the back of my truck and we found one that worked well with my pot. Have had no problems and I use it a lot. I'd suggest starting there.
