I have always used store bought smoked sausage for my boils in the past.

I have a lot of raw/uncooked deer sausage from last hunting season sitting in my freezer that I would like to use for a boil this weekend.

Should I pre-cook the sausage before adding to the boil? If so how (oven, grill, pan, boil)?

If you're warming it in crawfish water does it really matter how you precook it?

Just throw it on the grill or cook in a pan. If its going in a boil, it shouldn't matter that much

Link sausage? We put about 5lbs of green (uncooked) link sausage in a boil a couple weeks ago with the taters. Turned out great.

I'd rather smoked sausage in the boil. I'd throw the fresh sausage on the grill

Roll them into meatballs and brown them in a pan with oil. Add to the boil late in the process, like with the frozen corn before the soak. Be yummy.
