Ate at Ninja tonight. Very underwhelming. Geisha, Sushi Brothers and Little Tokyo are light years better. imhMFo.

There is a Sushi place close to the corner of Carrolton and Canal before Hurrican Katrina. Did they reopen anywhere after the storm? Does anyone remember the name of that place?

Was that the old Kanpai sushi buffet? First sushi buffet I ever ate at. I thought I was in heaven the first few times, but as I became a better sushi eater, you know, the type that doesn't mix wasabi with soy sauce, I shunned it.

To my knowledge, they did not reopen anywhere, and NOLA hasn't had a sushi buffet of its quality since. The Little Tokyo buffet on Williams was also up there in rivaling its quality, but it too was wiped out by Katrina. Now we have Chinese buffet quality sushi buffet joints in East Buffet and Oki Nago. Both are beyond bad.

I'm pretty sure that is the name of it. I feel the same way you do about it also. It was good for workday lunch if you were craving Sushi. That is the place that I first tried Sushi. Probably like most people, I was not crazy about Sushi the first time I tried it, but was craving it about a week later. My co-worker told me that was going to happen, and it sure did.
