random thought: food centric large events

I just saw an online ad for Fete des Fromages at the US Mint museum in NOLA....while I adore cheese, thinking about attending reminded me of the many sub-par large scale food events I've attended over the years. I no longer have the patience to stand in line for a tasting portion of something I can get more easily elsewhere, or for 1 oz pours of mediocre wines.

Are any of the big food/wine/beer events held in LA worth attending these days?
