Bump today was expected after yesterdays crazy drop in to uncharted territory. Hopefully this week of crazy fluctuations is over with for a while and I can get back to a bit of normalcy with my weigh-ins.

My fitness pal to watch my calorie intake, but since I'm trying to build muscle now I'm not really watching it as much, rather just eating a lot of chicken. Once you get used to eating better you really don't need to keep up as much.

I use nike+ to track my running.

I used fitness buddy to come up with workout plans am exercise ideas but I'm doing my own each week now.

And run locator to find 5k' in the area

Back up to 198 from 188 since I've been working out but clean gains. I thought i'd be happy with 195 ish but I'm wanting to add more now. If I can get to a clean 215 I think I'll be satisfied. But who knows.

I hate squats but you gotta work them legs. They burn more calories than anything else. I usually sub them with a smith machine or let press if I'm not feeling it.

Squats on a smith machine are practically begging to get injured imo

I don't squat heavy, really. About as much as I bench when I squat. It's more to get a low and fluid motion.

I load up the leg press but squats for me are more for the motions and fundamental lifts. When I do my "strong lift 5x5 weeks, I completely sub out squats bc that week if for low rep heavy weight.

Heavy squats are my favorite. Such a challenge, and nothing works you harder than heavy squats, aside maybe from heavy deadlifts.

No doubt. I had an injury in HS that made my squats suffer and I've just gotten back to making them a priority again. So in working on making sure I use good weight to use the best techniques and squat paralell. Not too low and not shallow. So I'm building that back up. I can leg press in the 400s but only squat 225-250 comfortably. Just not comfortable with raisin it too much right now. I took getting back into shape as an opportunity to do all my lifts correctly. For instance, I used to bench a LOT but would arch the frick out of my back and bounce the weight off my chest. So I'm making sure all my movements are correct right now and slowing increasing weight.

But yeah, squatting is pure power. Just wanting to do it correctly. I kind of enjoy starting low bc I'm already seeing better results as I'm not trying I impress football buddies with heavy weight and my curls and everything are less weight, but better range of motion.
