Just went through the Halloween Candy and picked out the best ones to have down the line on my cheat days. Can't let the little heathens have all the fun.

Have to find a new way to do the "leg trick" or something with this new scale. it had me at 255.4 for the 3rd day in a row. The thing seems so sensitive that I can't just put a leg on it and get a weight like I can on the other; it continually bounces around until it errors out because I can't keep the same amount of pressure on it long enough to get a reading. Grabbed some dumbbells and hopped on to get a different reading then back on to get the 255.2. Will keep playing with it to make sure I can be as accurate as possible.

Do you have the scale on a flat hard surface? I've never had so much trouble with scales as you have had. But then again I never cared as much about tenths of a lb as it seems some of you do.
My suggestion, quit focusing so much on that. It'll just drive you crazy.

oh yeah the surface and all is fine (bathroom floor) it's just one that's new and I'm trying to get used to how it works is all. I'm just not used to seeing the same weight on a scale for 3 days, I've gotten so used to there being daily fluctuations that when the scale stays the same for 3 days it makes me think that something is off

To be fair, though, I think my complaining about my old scale was legit since the thing finally crapped out on me last week to the point of it not being usable at all.

I'm not even bothered by it, I just sometimes like to use this post as my own little diary of sorts and spout whatever is in my mind at the time of posting. I won't give it anymore thought until tomorrow morning.

This is an awesome group! I'm gonna jump in if that's ok. Will weigh tomorrow morning. Wife and I did an email group with her family and I kind of gave up halfway through a 6-week challenge. They are all health nuts and I'm the biggest person in the family outside of her uncle who works 80 hr weeks so I'm not going to judge him poorly. I'm 6 ft and somewhere around 260. Would love to get back to the 225 or so category! Great idea for this group! Glad to see y'all have kept it running all this time.

More people are motivated this year. The lady at #1 is a beast. All she eats is stinky microwaved broccoli.

Riding 10 miles a day and eating about 1400 Atkins calories. Legs are getting a bit wobbly.

Welcome sir...good luck to you on your weight loss adventure. This thread is full of both good people and good info. That said, this thread is freakin huge and not always the easiest to read through to find said good info, so if you have questions or anything there are definitely some knowledgeable people in here to help out.

Thanks guys! I'm starting at 262...the most I've ever weighed and my goal is 216. I'm going with that number based on it being the average weight for my age and height. I'm not a health nut and I am an easy going guy. I refuse to feel bad or punish myself for having a bad meal but I also know that I am having them too often. I manage an Italian restaurant in town so obviously there are always unhealthy options around me. I tend to reward myself with food and if I get bored I eat. I also don't exercise regularly outside of playing golf one or two times a week and riding in the cart, aside from the moving around I do every day at my job. I want to stop eating as much, making healthier choices more often, and find more ways to exercise. Thanks for reading!

Welcome!
To echo what has been said, this is a great place with a wealth of knowledge and support. There's a bit of healthy competition and encouragement as well.

So in 2 months I put on 18 pounds by being inactive and eating more snacks. Flu hit me and I was out 2 weeks, started back at gym then hurt my back and was out a month, then came back and rolled my ankle avoiding a truck with a driver texting as he almost hit me.

First day back in gym did 3.5 miles on treadmill at 4.4mph pace and a 2 incline.

Another one of those Saturday morning get your hopes up weigh-ins. Sunday brought me back to reality with a 256 weigh in (almost 2 pounds over the day before) and today seems to have settled in at the mark I spent most of last week.

Didn't really cheat any this weekend so I'm fine with the weigh ins...shite happens. Ready to get this week started good.

Its been a good start. The wife and I did some yard work and pressure washing for my folks, and they repaid us by taking us to LaFleur's Seafood Restaurant

So I have had one bad meal so far, but who can turn down all you can eat Snow Crab Legs
