Place for drinks and appetizers before show at Mahalia Jackson Theater?

Looking for a decent place for a group of 10 women to get some cocktails and maybe appetizers before a show at the Mahalia Jackson. Coming from BR and will probably get down to NOLA around 5:30 and the show is at 7:30. Not much time and thinking mid-city area would be better than downtown? Any cool suggestions?

Meauxbar is my go-to spot in that area.
Last time I was there was two years ago before seeing Jersey Boys.
Ownership may have changed since then, but it's still probably perfect for you.
