LA 1 Whiskey. I don't think it's worth the price, but it's cool because you're some guy from LA.

I've been wanting to try this but that price point for a new unknown bourbon scares me off. I need one of my buddies to be the guinea pig and buy a bottle so I can sample.

There are dozens of better whiskeys for the price... it's not bad, but it's still way too young.

I tried it at Lock & Key, fortunately didn't buy a whole bottle.

Looking to get my groomsmen a nice bottle of whiskey, any recommendations? Somewhere in the $40-100 range

I would say Blanton's as others have suggested but I think you will have a hard time finding multiple bottles of Blanton's right now. So I will suggest EH Taylor Small Batch. It's a great bottle of Bourbon, comes in a tube which makes it nice for gift giving, and the cost is right under $40.
