This is the year of living dangerously. Kids requested beef stroganoff (I seriously have no idea why) so I found a recipe that looked good. Husbands family is doing Italian (lasagna and spaghetti) and I found an Italian roast recipe that was interesting. Also found an eggnog pie recipe for my moms I have never made before. It will either go really well or horribly wrong. Anyone else taking a chance without a test run?
*made a random recipe 20 years ago from a magazine that I just happened to have the ingredients for and it has lived in infamy since so a flop hopefully will not ruin that streak

Going to try a shrimp and grits casserole recipe I found on here a while back Christmas morning. If it's good, I'll bring the rest for lunch with the big family. If not, I'll just eat it that morning and keep to feed my hubby and kids.

I am notorious in my family for trying brand new things for company or holidays. This year it is a chocolate fudge layer cake with caramel buttercream and chocolate ganache from Southern Living November issue. We shall see...

I learned how to make a praline punkin pie on turkey day. I don't add a lot of the spicey spices just ginger and nutmeg and I use sweetened condensed milk. so I will make a couple for Christmas.
