Some whiskey has an astringent quality and will kind of burn the nostrils when you sniff it. One that doesn't do this would be "easy on the nose."

Buffalo Trace is very good and cheap as shite. I sip on 2-3 glass each night and it gives me a nice buzz

I love Buffalo Trace, but the last two times I've gone to the liquor store here they've been completely sold out. Anyone else experience a shortage of it?

good bourbon has been as scarce as winning powerball tickets for a long time....

to the OP, best quote ever, "all bourbon is whiskey, but, not all whiskey is bourbon" .....
the nose should warn you whether you sip it or mix it (as in cheap stuff)

No. There's plenty of Buffalo Trace. Albertsons always has it stocked and Costco gas a single barrel select for 19 dollars. if you want BTAC or Van Winkle products doe, pull out da checkbook cause its a doozy on the secondary market.
