chitown, i'll try your recipe next.
gris - the entire bottom and sides were covered with bacon in a latticework, i think it kind-of shrunk up in the oven and then when i cut it my knife was dull and it pulled some of the less crispy around.
i think i may need to cook the bacon a bit longer next time and try pioneer.
it was still yummy and yes i buttered the heck out of the top of it before i flipped it out of the skillet.
