I have long been a cheesecake fan, but have never attempted to make one. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good easy recipe for a first time?

This chocolate malted cheesecake recipe is an oldie but goodie that's been passed around for years. The only trick to cheesecake is making sure the cream cheese is really and truly at room temp before mixing. Even slightly cool cc will result in lumps. I stick it in the microwave for a few secs to make it warmish.
Chocolate malted cheesecake: beat (use a mixer, not by hand) 3 8-oz blocks of cream cheese until room temp and fluffy. Beat in one can of sweeteend condensed milk, 8-10 oz melted chocolate, 3/4 cup malted milk powder, and four eggs. Pour into a 9? springform pan with already-prepared crumb crust (aw, for pete’s sake, that’s too easy, but in case you’re in serious need of instructions, smash one cellophane sleeve of graham crackers, mix with 1/3 cup melted butter & 2 tablespoons sugar. Press onto sides & bottom of springform pan.) Bake at 300 degrees for 65 minutes, or until the top springs back lightly when touched. Cool to room temp, then chill overnight before serving.
Top w/fresh raspberries if uppity, canned cherry pie filling if you're cheap.

My wife makes a killer chocolate chip cheesecake, but it isn't easy or quick.

This thread got the anchor. According to admins, your title is too short and not descriptive enough.
