I have a Lyfetime and like it a lot. It does require some babysitting. I have to check temps at least every hour.

got some high temp felt to seal up any spots

I had that issue with my GMG and the gasket did wonders. They sent me an entirely new lid and i haven't even put it on because the original is broken in and working fine. Good to have a spare.

Does the lang in that photo still have the cross draft where the heat/smoke comes out at the opposite end and drafts back across the meat to the vent pipe? Imo that is what makes those things so good. War damn btw. What a disaster this season has turned out to be...........

The pellets are the king of set it and forget it.

I have two eggs and I use the digi-q for long smokes. I will literally light it, throw the meat on and leave for 10 hours and not worry about it. It can be done without the digi but why not use every advantage??

I also built a yuge gravity feed smoker that will run about 18 hours with no intervention and will hold 24-30 butts at once. It is entirely too big but it is so nice when you want to do a brisket, couple butts and some ribs. I usually end up cooking a butt for 2-3 friends when I fire it up. No extra effort and cooks so good. Look up “stumpys” for the big one. Plans were $75 I think and I probably have 5-600 in materials in it.

Yes all the Langs have the dual flow smoke. It crosses the cook chamber twice before exiting. That is their calling card.
