Kitchen implements in the smoker

Am I going to ruin my cast iron skillets, baking pans, racks, etc., if I put them in the Kamado Joe smoker for 9/10 hours at a time? I don't want them to become discolored, and I certainly don't want my cast iron to pick up any smells.

I'm sure the seasoning will pick up smells from smoking or fat burning from grilling. I would not do it.
