I tried microwaving some roux - first time - got it real nice and dark. Smelled fine, dumped it into the gumbo pot with everything else and when I went to taste it it was bitter as fugg. I have never screwed up a roux this bad before. Is there any way to save this pot of garbage? Should we just order a pizza?

Sorry, order that pizza. No saving it now.

I agree with the others. Burnt roux is nasty and there's no hope but to start over.

Pizza is your friend tonight.

not sure the pizza is going to save your faux pas either.

I hear Campbell's sells gumbo in a can. Make next time you can handle that?
