I went to Huntington Beach beer company, was a pretty cool spot. There's also a sushi place called sushi on fire that is really good. I only was there for 2 days so not a ton of recs. But obviously go out on the pier and there's a restaurant (diner?) out there that I'm sure is fine.

Go down to Newport Beach. Check out Mutt Lynch's for pizza and a schooner of beer. Just head down the PCH.

I will second mutt lynchs they have great wings. But Huntington is cooler than Newport - definitely has a more local vibe.
