It’s only been a thing probably the last 3-4 years. Whenever you have a lot of supply like there’s been the last couple years, they’ll whole boil them and ship them around the country.

I think they basically Blanche them to kill them, then they freeze and store this happens after Easter when the demand for crawfish goes down. They sell them throughout the summer and until the next season takes off. Restaurants will buy them and basically reboil/heat them up.

Lots of places are suddenly popping up on my Facebook, not all in my area. That's the price listed for all of them boiled with 1 corn and 1 potato. I won't be eating crawfish anytime soon with the exception of the frozen tails in the freezer.

Price drop to the farmers Monday $6lb, so restaurants should be following and dropping a couple dollars also.
