For a typical small bar/lounge?

Has anyone on this board gone through this process without a partner that has done it before?

Yeah, I saw that. I wasn't sure if there were other fees. A local bar owner told me his cost him $30k, and I was flabbergasted.

He knows we have cash and my wife has been toying with the idea of opening a bar, so he may have just been trying to discourage me.

No, it doesn't cost anywhere near that. There could be other fees, but it'd be tough as hell to make it as a bar if you had to pay 30k a year to get a license. He may have bought an existing bar, and it may have cost him 30k to buy the LLC to which the license was originally issued.

Class A licenses are issued to those businesses that sell or serve alcohol for consumption on the premises.
