Heading to Houston in September to see the Cubs play the Astros. Looking for suggestions for dinner and lunch for two days. We Would like a good steakhouse one of the dinners. Staying at Hilton Americas near Minute Maid.
Also if anyone has any insight on something for my wife and I to do on a Friday during the day, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the help.

There are at least 3 threads on Houston dining from the past 6 months ... Might want to try the search function for them ... Lots of good advice and suggestions ...

Neither near Minute Maid, but within reasonable driving distance....
Day drinking and day eating: Cottonwood
Nice Dinner: Capital Grille in the Galleria

There are quite a few steakhouse options downtown near your hotel: Papa's Bros, Vic & Anthony's, and 3 Forks. Of these, Papa's Bros is best (IMO).
You're right near Discovery Green park, which is pretty nice. Grab a drink (possibly food) at the Grove in the park. They have a rooftop patio which is pretty cool. Also, Hearsay located in the Embassy Suites (next door) is a cool place for a beer or cocktail. If you're feeling like Mexican food, go to Irma's Southwest Grill. There's 2 locations, one on either side of the stadium. The one on your side of the stadium is open for lunch everyday, and dinner on the day of Astros games (they might be open for dinner every night now?). Seriously my favorite mexican restaurant.
