The Lips Of Faith stuff will be the most likely
I think the hype around DFH has made me jump on their big bottles more than I would have w/out it. Not b/c I go crazy for it, more b/c it's become harder to find. For whatever reason the Theobroma didn't sell very good. I've never seen any big bottles at the spec's on katy freeway but they had a full shelf on the end of an aisle full of them.
You may find the Stoic, and b/c of its limitted availability I'd take it, but quad's aren't high enough on my list want it over the Lips of Faith stuff.

Congrats on the win this weekend. I should have gone with y'all.
Any interest in going down to New Orleans on Friday afternoon to teh Avenue Pub for their last Oktoberfest tapping? We could invite tetu but he would probably have something better to do. (Did you see what I did there? Reverse Psychology)

I wouldn't mind something from one of the Texas Breweries - maybe a big bottle of Rahr or the like.
I'll see what I can find. Independence does 4-packs if you'd be interested in any of theirs.

FYI: they ran out of Life & Limb on tap. Went through 10 gallons in a week I was told.

I'm surprised it lasted that long. I guess there are enough other good options there.

No clue, I've been busy busy since I got back. Haven't had the perfect time to try it. Seems super interesting though. I always hear you talking about the lips of faith series so I picked it up.

btw everyone, after 6+ weeks in bottle I tried one from my last batch. It was disgusting. It was a wierd feeling throwing away two cases of beer.

I have that one on my list to find a few bottles... but it might make BR as well. The DR #11 made it here.

Visiting family. Tried quite a few new beers while I was up there and had Brunch at Goose Island. Pretty cool.

That sucks. I've only thrown away one full batch, that damn mold episode. I did try a pilsner yesterday that apparently didn't fully seal when I bottled it, flat and nasty.

Cool. Brunch at GI sounds very cool

Yep, I've been waiting for that. Very cool. Is it supposed to be limited release or anything?

Yeah, my gallon w/ fruit hasn't molded yet. Going to bottle it anyway I know it'll suck just to see if the blueberry flavor comes out at all then I'll pour it down the drain.
Going to try to recarb the pilsner or what?

Pumpkinator will be released on Thursday, October 13
Pumpkinator LogoWe were hoping for a Friday the 13th but had to settle for Thursday the 13th. Pumpkinator is a big, black, full of spice, full of flavor beer. Originally released in 2009 as Divine Reserve No. 9, it is an imperial pumpkin stout and our answer to how a pumpkin beer ought to taste. This year's version comes in at 10% ABV. It is brewed with a combination of pale two row, caramel and black malts, Cascade and Liberty hops for a background hop flavor, pumpkin for a rich mouthfeel, molasses and brown sugar, and spiced and dry-spiced to make it feel like you just walked into your mom's kitchen while she was cooking 37 pumpkin pies. It is the most expensive beer we have brewed. It is a single batch release and only in 22 oz. bottles (sharing recommended!). It probably won't be on the shelves for too long.
This beer is best enjoyed at 50°F or warmer to bring out the spices and round body. Personally we have found it to be the perfect end to a Thanksgiving meal from a flavor standpoint. Some have said it makes relatives more enjoyable too.
The labels are dated with 2011 as this beer should age well for those willing to do so. Aging them cold is the best way to do this if you have the ability. If not, time to get a beer fridge!

Yeah I've signed up for their mailing list three times and still don't get anything from them.

Weird, I hand-wrote my e-mail down at their tasting one time and found my way on it. Most if completely useless info about events I'll never be able to attend, but then there are ones like this that actually have some relevance!

I got a message from the brewery saying it would be relased in Texas and very limited in LA.

Then thank goodness crescent crown doesn't distribute it. Otherwise 90% of the LA cases would stay in nola.
