I’m in Maui right now.
I think it is too late in the year but if it isn't seek out some mangosteen.
Don't just stick to the basics, Hawaii has an amazing assortment of exotic fruits and while they all taste better tree ripened some are so much different from what we get in CONUS they are like a different fruit.

Lived there back in the 90s, and it almost ruined me when it came to fruit once we move back mainland. All the fruit you buy at the stands, or stores are ripe when they are picked. Mangos, avocados, and bananas, pretty much grow wild if you know where to go. Plus the avocados where bigger than a softball. Finding a 1lb avocado was pretty normal.

I forgot about the avocados. You are right. They were HUGE, and we saw many red ones. They were better than any avocado I've tasted.

They grow dozens of varieties of avocados in Hawaii. Just like bananas eating avocado in Hawaii was a revelation. I thought bananas and avocados tasted more or less one way which is far from the reality.
