From what I've seen online, people are going NUTS with the Monopoly tricks/workarounds, so McDonald's is a bit of a madhouse right now.
Basically you get 10 free Monopoly pieces per day due to US law re: sweepstakes, and out of those 10, like 3 end up being winning pieces. When you go in person and use the kiosk, you're able to just create numerous separate orders (to work around the thing that keeps you from stacking free codes) so people are ordering like 10 separate orders and getting it all for free.
No idea if that happened at yours, but it's possible!
