yes, it only takes the metal nespresso capsules. said capsule is not remotely shaped like a k cup. it is also a legit steam/pressure brewer, not a hot water dripper.

the problem with k-cups is that they are expensive as hell. The scoop gives the ability to adjust strength and it is much cheaper

It takes other brands of Nespresso-shaped (compatible) capsules.
I buy Nespresso and HiLine coffee. I have not had good luck with any other brands.
I recommend the Inisissia w/ Aerocino Frother @ that price point.
