What ya'll got cooking for the 4:45 tip off tomorrow?
I'm going BBQ some gizzards and then put them in the slow cooker. Also going to grill some hot wings with my special sauce/recipe. As for the main course, I picked up 8 fresh cleaned and seasoned pork tongues this morning. I'm going to make a brown gravy with them and some spicy sasuage. I plan on smothering 2 heads of cabbage with some smoked turkey wings and slab bacon to server on the side. I'm going to be cooking everything except the gizzards over an open wood fire just like as if we were camping. Add in lots of gin and sprites and I'll be ready for the game come 4:45.

I'm not a big fan of the beers, but maybe one of my Baton Rouge pals that is heading home this weekend could bring me 1 or 2 of them?

Get the hot wing sauce from Dollar General or Dollar Tree. It's made by pepers unlimited in Saint Martinville. It's cheap and very good. Season your wings with salt, pepper, Tony's, Slapp Ya Mamma, etc. I also like to twist them as I find it easier to flip them that way. I put them on the BBQ pit or gas grill until done. Then I put them in a pot and add the sauce. Put the cover on the pot and shake them around. Here's the key. Let them sit covered for 20 minutes before eating. They will continue to cook a little and will stay very warm if you keep the top on the pot. Keeping the top on the pot is the hardest park as every jackass seems to want to eat one as soon as you take them of the pit. The skin and the sauce will come together as one as they steam together.
