Fresh red beans and banana peppers

Two questions:
I got a pound of fresh red beans in the freezer. Do you need to soak them overnight like dried beans? Is the cook time any different?
I also have a few fresh banana peppers. What are some suggestions for cooking them? I was thinking about chopping them up and tossing them in the red beans. Kill two birds with one stone.
