You are welcome here. Those guys were just messing with you a bit. You like what you like and there is nothing wrong with drinking Abita or New Belgium if that is what you like. There are just so many better beers out there. Stick around. I can get you some beers you've never seen before.

ETA: once you taste the best though, it is hard to go back!

I actually just recently started to like ales IPAs etc.

I was crown guy for years but my hangovers were getting out of control so I branched out to beers and acquired the taste a few months ago.

I would love some great IPA choices

We've all been there. Your preferences/tastes will evolve as you drink new beers and see what is out there. I'll hook you up with a sampler next week and you can drink and let us know what you think.
