Counting lunches, I have probably eaten there about 50 times!
Do they have a lunch menu?

Yes. A scaled down version of the dinner menu with sandwiches and lunch specials. The meatball sandwich is killer.

I'm surprised at the positive reviews of this place, it must be much better than the Lafayette location. I've eaten at the Lafayette location a half dozen times and it's not a serious Italian restaurant. In fact, if given the choice between Marcellos and one of the big chains (Maggianos, Carrabas) I'd go with the chains, they are better. I do like the wine program though, they have the best selection in Lafayette.

I think so. When the BR location first opened the menus were very similar. The BR menu is now much more "chef driven" I think. Gene, Jr. and the chef have done a great job with the menu. You should give it a try.

For us wine drinkers, this format can't be beat.

Have talked with several people, including a couple tonight, that said they had to text back and forth with the people they were sitting with because it was too loud to hear. Seriously, one guy tonight said he had a sore throat from trying to shout where the person across the table could hear him.
No thanks.

Sore throat? Maybe they were sitting in the bar. It is loud in the bar. I just got home from dinner in the dining room. Great food and service. I did not have to text or holler to talk with the people at my table.
BTW, love the sig quote. I guess old Lou will say the same thing this year.

For some reason the one in Lafayette always smells like dirty mop water.

No I'm back in Lafayette trying to sweat out all the alcohol, fat, salt, and sugar I ingested over six weeks.

6 weeks--I can't imagine. I was there 7/11-7/15 and came back feeling bloated from the excess.
