No Passport Required, Eater’s new show on PBS, brings Chef Marcus Samuelsson to New Orleans in the second episode (July 17).
In the New Orleans episode, Samuelsson talks with multiple generations of Vietnamese chefs about “about their culinary contributions to the city, and how these food traditions have truly become a part of the multicultural city.”
In an interview with Eater, he said that cooking with chef Tung Nguyen’s family in New Orleans was one of his favorite moments during the entire season of filming.
He also talks with councilwoman Cindy Nguyen and chef Peter Nguyen; enjoys pho, bánh mì, Vietnamese iced coffee; and hears about the impact the BP oil spill and Hurricane Katrina had on the community.
The show, airing every Tuesday from July 10 through August 14 at 8 p.m. CST, dives into immigrant food culture in six U.S. cities: New Orleans, Detroit, Miami, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Tung is a great guy. Owns a stall in St Roch Market.
He's been posting about this for months now on FB and Inta

I don't follow him. I have been to his stall at St. Roch though. Not sure if he was there.
