This. Tastee's donuts always taste stale to me except for the McKenzie's buttermilk drops they make.
You are correct--nothing can beat a piping hot Krispy Kreme donut.

My main complaint with their donuts is that their glaze donuts aren't hot. I love my donuts to have that hot, fresh out of the oven taste.
For some reason, it's all but impossible to get hot donuts anywhere in New Orleans.

Except at Krispy Kreme on Clearview. Technically Metry though.

District doesn't have a conveyor belt like Krispy Kreme cranking out hot donuts all day. They make theirs in the morning and usually limit the amount you can buy. They will heat up your order if you ask. The buttermilk drops are pretty money, IMO, as are the kolaches.
I'm a medium roast drinker and don't go there for the coffee, although I like the Americano.

I'm not a big donut guy, but their sliders are incredible. My favorites have been the pork belly, BLT, and oyster.
