I got a similar deal on those same skillets 20 years ago. I still have them, and use the mid size one almost every day.

Seems better to me than spending $40-$60 on one beautiful skillet

Anyone made the switch from cast iron to carbon steel? Everything I’ve been reading and watching is making it seem like carbon steel is a better all-around option.

I bought a carbon steel pan this spring. We use it probably 30-40% of the time over our cast iron. It's lighter and not as thick, so it's lighter so my wife likes it better but for something like searing a steak or what not where you want it hot and to stay hot it's not as good. But for most other things it's basically the same thing.
