that.

and it sounds like he doesn't know how to properly handle a dining situation. you can be firm and not be an a-hole. the moment you knew your food wasn't edible, you should have immediately sent it back and had another one prepared. if that didn't work then speak to a manager. if that doesn't work, get up and leave. they won't stop you

Chimes get a free pass here, for some reason BR people like it.

Normally I don't like making a fuss if it is halfway edible... at a place like the Chimes that sauce is bulk made so asking for another wouldn't help much.

If I'm at a fine dining restaurant or a good steakhouse though and I'm paying for a 50 dollar steak for ex., I will gladly say it is not cooked properly, etc.

I could scrape by eating a somewhat crappy meal at the chimes until I see that I was charged an extra 9 bucks for something that wasn't advertised nor worth the $. Had I known it was an extra 9 bucks for a sauce on top of the fish, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. That's just nuts for a place like the chimes.

It wasn't the $, just the priniciple.

9 for a sauce! that is outrageous. so outrageous it sounds far fetched

only place i've ever been charged 9 bucks for a sauce is a side order (additional sauce) for a veal dish. The sauce was made to order, and crabmeat, so I didn't dare complain bc honestly it was worth it.

I dont think he was boycotting Chimes. I think he just made such an arse of himself that he is embarrassed to go back....Thats why he went to the other location....Did you try getting something free this time too??

yall 2 are dumbasses... I'm tired of talking about this shite. I've never argued for a free meal ever... I don't have defend my dining experience to yall either.

Bottom line is Chimes doesn't care if they lose one customer.... it's a freaking goldmine and they can do whatever they want and get away with it. It is very inconsistent... I just thought I would say that they performed my dish very well last night and that I was pleasantly surprised.

damn dude you are fricking stupid... same location, where did I say I went to the other one. I only go to the original on Highland b/c I live right down the road.

Where did I say I was trying to get a free meal... I just said I didn't want to pay for the sauce that I didn't know was extra and was not advertised as extra. Take the price of the sauce off, I pay for the rest of the meal and walk away fine.

i just recognize good food in BR and know it doesn't only reside in the chimes. thats the point of my food blog. to show people good food is out there in places they may not have heard of

The guy says was screwed over on a special, which isn't that far fetched, tried the place again and gave it a mixed (not even a negative) review, so why would you bust his balls and basically call him a liar? Zombie, how would you like to be called a whiny bitch or called a liar next time you post your experience on a restaurant? You and Mouton need to grow up and act your ages.

i agree. happens to everyone

i didn't really call him a liar. i just said it didn't seem like he handled it correctly and that a $9 sauce at the chimes seems a little far fetched

i guess i wouldn't like it. but when i post i try to write clearly and state my feelings (positive and negative) on a restaurant. thus trying to prevent people flaming me. and i have been flamed before. many times. it happens, you move on.

ok, go pour yourself a drink, take a deep breath, and calm down

Zombie, not to be an arse, but you are heading down the path of being a Tom Fitzmorris like douche real quick like and you haven't even gotten started good on this restaurant reporting thing.

Sounds like the guy had a legit complaint about a trick in the pricing and had a bad meal on top of that. If the mgr was worth a shite he would have comped the sauce.

you think you are some big shite now huh... I guarantee I handled it correctly. I promise you it has to be a big deal for me to ask to see the manager. I can count on one hand the amount of times I have done that or sent food back. The far-fetched shock of an overpriced unadvertised sauce is the precise reason why I made a big deal about it.

You two sherlock dumbasses then started forming your own opinions about nothing relavent to what I typed or was arguing.

if i become half as successful as tom fitzmorris then i will be happy. and i am not obsessed with high end dining like he is. i want to really focus on local chefs doing it right.

and i still stand by he didn't handle it right. maybe he could give us the details of what went down and we could all then have a clearer understanding of why he boycotted the place

well then why don't you just tell us what happened? what did the manager say? what did you say back. frick dude, if you would just clearly state the story then i guarantee no one would jump to conclusions

edit: i never accussed his of wanting a free meal or anything. but the wayhe told the story, it sounded like he was unhappy with the dish, ate the majority of it, made no complaint, and when the bill came asked for his money back.

i totally agree. i wouldn't want to pay for something i was unhappy with. but i wouldn't do it at the end of the meal. and i blame the waiter for not telling you about this sauce. it should have been taken off your bill

zombie, i doubt he would have said anything if they hadn't tried to screw him with that BS charge...he was just going to chalk it up to mediocre chimes food .... then they pulled that crap... all he wanted was for them not to charge extra for something THEY screwed up by not stating correctly...i agree with beerz....shake em off beerz
