An appellate court has voted to reinstate the suspension of the liquor license at Chelsea's Café. The ruling came despite passage of a state law earlier this year aimed to clarify the status of Chelsea's and other restaurants that offered drink specials and live entertainment. The court's decision stems from an earlier dispute between Chelsea's and the Louisiana Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. The new decision rules that Chelsea's owner David Remmetter did not file his appeal in a “timely manner” -- it was filed more than 10 days after the original decision to suspend the Chelsea’s license on March 19. Remmetter says although he has had no word from the ATC Board about the need to cease the sale of liquor at his establishment, he is voluntarily halting it immediately to ensure that he is in full compliance with the law. Brandon Brown, Remmetter’s attorney, says he wants to try to reach an agreement with the ATC, but if that fails, they will bring a suit on the basis that Chelsea’s is now in compliance with the clarified law.—Rachael Upton

A witch hunt of a solid lunch eatery turned music club with originality by night..

they have a hard on for dave remmeter, not chelsea's .. remmeter's been playing the "catch me if you can" card for a long time ... if you keep poking the big dog through the fence .. it will eventually bite you ..
