Happy 4th of July! Does anyone have a really good recipe for a bushwacker?

Take two Sheephearders, and add a cup of WWF.

Does a mudslide have Kahlua in it?

This from the bar at the top of the mountain in St. Thomas.

6oz Baileys Cream Ale
4oz Kahlua
4oz dark creme of Cacoa
4oz Amaretto
2oz dark Rum
2oz Vodka

Blend with ice makes about 32 ounces. I don't like these types of drinks usually but this one is great. Grate some nutmeg on the top.

The problem I have is getting the consistency right. I've never been able to do it without one of those machines. I don't like it to be like a daquiri.

The SO uses ice cream sometimes to make em and it does do a decent job thickening em up.

Yeah, I've made them with a Blend Tec and with a Margaritaville drink mixer. The Margaritaville was easier to get the consistency right. I like the recipe I posted because it is all liquor and can be scaled up to a make a large batch and then just add to blender and ice. That way I'm not measuring again and again.

Spent a week recently at the Phoenix X and drank way too many Bushwackers at the FloraBama. Got home, had withdrawals and searched for the recipe. There are many variations but the following seems to be the closest to what I remember drinking at the FB.

1/2 oz. dark rum
1/2 oz. Crème De Cocoa
1/2 oz. vanilla rum
1/2 oz. vodka
1 oz. Kahlua
1 1/2 oz. Baileys
3/4 oz. Amaretto
1 oz. Cream of Coconut
Ice

I use a Magic Bullet blender that works great by pouring in the above contents and then filling with ice about 1/2" from the top. Damn, it's GOOD!!
